IV Sedation

One of the biggest concerns that our patients have is a fear of doing dental treatment. This fear can be the result of multiple procedures including having a needle placed for freezing, fear of the drill or other instruments that are used to perform our dentistry.

At Parkway Dentistry we can help you to overcome any fears you have by offering multiple options for sedation dentistry. These options include:

  1. Nitrous Oxide or what is commonly referred to as laughing gas. This is an entry level of sedation that is effective for patients with minimal anxiety and is an excellent choice for children.
  2. Oral Sedation – This is a pill that is taken in the office and is similar to valium. This can be done in combination with Nitrous and is effective for people with a higher level of anxiety.
  3. IV Sedation – This is the highest level of conscious sedation that is offered and is what is recommended for our more involved surgical procedures such as implant surgery, bone and gum grafts and wisdom teeth extraction. IV sedation is an excellent treatment option for people with higher levels of anxiety and allows the patient to be more comfortable with little to no memory of the procedure after the sedation wears off.

If you are interested in Sedation Dentistry, please let us know and we discuss the option that is best suited for you in further detail.
